Hi everyone! I have Christina back today talking about planning a family vacation. Hope everyone had a great weekend!
The most interesting and enjoyable family vacations are those planned down to the smallest detail. There are several steps to planning a vacation before the luggage is loaded or reservations are confirmed:
. Know your family's interests and enjoyments
. Plan creatively
. Design vacation plans with each family member in mind
. Determine expenses and vacation costs in advance
The Secret To A Great Family Vacation
Each family has their own ideas about the type of vacation they prefer. This may range from a full schedule of sightseeing or more casual, relaxed vacations at the beach or in any a host of designated campgrounds. Sports vacations can be fun for families too. There are plenty of sports museums that the whole family can enjoy. The secret to a great family vacation is to know your family's main interests and enjoyments. All that remains is to coordinate these with a whole world of places to see and things to do.
Plan Creatively
For families who love sightseeing there are many interesting historical sights and landmarks that capture the attention of children and adults. Try focusing on a local region's history or choose from among a large selection of specific historical topics associated with landmarks. Create a mystery vacation where children may be part of a scavenger hunt in a predetermined locale. This blends vacation time with a fun game as a focal point. Sightseeing in a state or national capital can be a week or more of fun as well as a learning adventure for parents and children. Plan vacations creatively for maximum enjoyment and memorable family activities.
Design Family Vacations
Take into account the likes and dislikes of each family member. This can be a very valuable method of avoiding conflicts or disagreements. It's possible to design a family vacation that addresses the preferences of all age groups. The arts are usually a best bet for satisfying the needs of each family member. Select a vacation site that offers a wide variety of opportunities to connect with music, theater and live performances. Choose a location that not only offers audience viewing, but also audience participation. Handcraft villages usually provide a selection of items for purchase as well as exhibits and chances to learn the craft in process. Design family vacations that stray from the usual and venture into the unusual.
Determine Expenses And Vacation Costs In Advance
Nothing is more daunting than being short of funds during family vacations. Allocate sufficient funds to set aside for vacation emergencies should they arise as well as for unplanned expenses like admission fees, parking if applicable or additional services with hotel accommodations. Souvenirs are usually one expense that can reduce available vacation funds.

What is the most unique (or just your favorite) family vacation you have ever been on??

I want to go on sport vacations immediately, to mountains or somewhere :)
ReplyDeleteGreat tips. I'm so particular about who I travel with. My family and I have never done an international holiday, I don't think we will either and I'm quite happy about that! These are still wonderful tips though. Megan, hope you've been well, I miss you!
ReplyDeletePS that 'thing' well supervisor said go for it! Second stage under way ;) <3
